Mario started as a 2D, 8-bit game, called "Super Mario Bros.", made in 1985 for the NES or the (Nintendo Entertainment System). That game started to become a big hit. After that, (Super Mario Bros. 2) was made in 1988 for the same system. That's when Mario games took a big leap in the future, but still had old features. Then later, (Super Mario Bros. 3) was made in 1988. That game has been favorited for a long time and has been ported many times to lots of new systems. Then the 3D system was released, it started the new generation of video games. The (Nintendo 64) was made. The first 3D Mario game came to life on that system.
The game (Super Mario 64) was made for the Nintendo 64. The game was played a lot and people still play it today. This games replay value is very high and is being ported to WII U right now. This game is the first Mario game to have new actions for Mario. The later Mario games have similar properties to this game. Most Mario games were voiced by Charles Martinet. And basically, this is why Mario is what he is today.
